It’s more of a French Packard, I was just thinking Conti because of the suicide doors and square shape.

Calling it a French Packard is much closer, since Studebaker came close to a deal with Facel to rebadge their cars as Packards in the early ‘60s.

Right, well SP had a marketing agreement with Mercedes at the time in which fledgling SP dealers sold Benzes. Had the Facel deal gone through, M-B probably would have pulled out of their deal with SP for fielding a competitor to their lineup.
